Renovated two-bedroom prewar co-op with navy blue kitchen and marble waterfall island for Amy and Brian at 416 Ocean Avenue, Unit 37, Prospect Park South, Brooklyn

When Amy and Brian were ready to make their Prospect Park South co-op feel like home, they brought Zani Construction in for a full renovation. The two-bedroom apartment was rebuilt from top to bottom, and the design choices show real personality. The kitchen, anchored by a marble waterfall island and deep navy blue cabinetry, balances modern function with the apartment's prewar character. A custom built-in library nook with framed art and reading bench was carved out of an alcove — exactly the kind of detail that turns a renovation into a home.

The bathroom got equal attention. A clawfoot tub anchors a space finished with patterned floor tile, subway tile, and a quiet color palette — period-appropriate without feeling fussy. Throughout the apartment, hardwood floors were refinished, layouts were reworked to suit how Amy and Brian actually live, and finish work was coordinated end-to-end. Brian later said the project worked because of close, honest collaboration with Landi, Zani's founder, who took real pride in the work and was incredible to collaborate with.

The finished apartment was striking enough to be featured in 6sqft, the New York real estate publication that profiles thoughtfully renovated city homes. Beyond the press, the project is exactly the kind of outcome Zani aims for on every job: a home that reflects the people who live in it, built by a team that treats the work like their own.
