A Prospect Lefferts Gardens brownstone renovation — original mahogany staircase and stained glass transom restored, parlor rooms with period fireplace mantels preserved, custom understairs closet built, two kitchens and three bathrooms rebuilt, and pavers laid out back.

Lincoln Road is one of those classic Brooklyn blocks where the right brownstone, renovated well, can be a family's home for a generation. The work at 200 Lincoln Road was a true whole-home project — the kind that touches every floor, every system, and most of the major surfaces in the house. The headline restoration was the original mahogany staircase, including its carved newel posts, balusters, and stained glass transom — the kind of work that has to be done by hand, one piece at a time. Period fireplace mantels in the parlor rooms were preserved alongside.
Around the restoration work, the Zani team rebuilt two kitchens and three bathrooms, refinished hardwood floors throughout, and built in a custom understairs closet — a new piece of carpentry designed to look like it had always been there. The parlor rooms got their full attention as well: moldings refreshed, walls re-coated, sightlines through the home preserved. Brownstone renovation is craftsmanship work, not just construction, and every restored detail has to earn its place next to the new work.
The exterior work extended the project into the backyard with new pavers, turning the rear yard into another part of the home the family can actually live in. From front entry to back patio, the result is a brownstone that holds the standard the neighborhood expects: preserved character, modernized systems, and finish work that holds up for the long haul.
